Salvatore J. Miraglia, Jr. was president and an officer of the Steel Group of The Timken Company until his retirement in 2012.

His appointment in August 2005 led the Steel Group to record production, shipments, and profitability. The group increased capacity and expanded its line of alloy bar products while continuing to grow sales for alloy tubing and precision steel components. His unique mix of experience in research and development, steelmaking and purchasing, as well as his knowledge of the bearing and mechanical power transmission markets, enabled him to develop business strategies that added value for customers and shareholders alike.

Prior to being named to this position, Mr. Miraglia served as senior vice president of technology, group vice president of industrial and super precision bearings in North America and director of manufacturing in Europe, Africa and West Asia. He also has held the positions of vice president and director of steel manufacturing, and a variety of roles in research and purchasing.  

A member of the American Society of Professional Engineers, the American Institute of Metallurgical Engineers and the American Society for Metals, Mr. Miraglia also served on the president’s council of the Manufacturers Alliance/MAPI, and was appointed to the Ohio Steel Industry Advisory Council.He currently serves on the Boards of Advisors for The Entrepreneurs Edge, Metalsa (a Proeza company) and is Chairman of the Board of Trustees for The Ohio Aerospace Institute.
